We hope you enjoy our ASMR Mukbang video at Hella Vegan Eats! Gabby and I make weird self-promotional crafting art videos and have a kickass Instagram channel that focuses on self-love, friendship, confidence, and hapa women power. In addition to making artwork that focuses the camera lens on cute ourselves, we also collaborate with businesses that we believe. We do this to foster friendship and increase visibility to communities that are ignored and harassed in modern-day America.
With that, welcome to Hella Vegan Eats, product of Tiff Esquivel and Silvi Peligras! In March, Gabby La La and I had the opportunity to make our first ever mukbang style eating video. (If you don’t know what mukbang is, GOOGLE IT!)

The owners of Hella Vegan Eats are both true gems – kind, strong, and generous – the kind of people I want in my life. I remember the first time I got to know them was right after the Ghostship Fire in December 2016. Everyone was a mess. Our friend was the incomparable, Ara Jo, who we tragically lost to the fire that swallowed up 35 other artists and young people. Ara and I hung out at Sgraffito a few times for Ara’s famous haircuts and once to drop off some jars for kimchi making.
I remember talking to Silvi at Sgraffito for the first time after the Ghostship Fire. “So you work at Hella Vegan?” I nervously asked Silvi. To which she expertly replied “Umm..actually, I’m the owner.”
Bam. It was love at first sight.
Tiff and Silvi have done something incredible by building Hella Vegan Eats – a place where queer/trans identity and love is celebrated: a beacon of light and life in dark times! Moreover, Hella Vegan Eats is a clear reflection of the diverse arts culture of Oakland as it is located inside Classic Cars West, part art gallery / part vintage car dealership.
The world is hungry for good food and thoughtful businesses and Hella Vegan Eats is servin’ it up!
