Los Angeles Zine Fest Here I Come!

Check out my new artwork at Los Angeles Zine Fest  2016

My good friend (and one-half of femme duo behind Come Find Out), Anjelica Colliard, and I are driving down to Los Angeles, California this Saturday to exhibit our new work at L.A. Zine Fest on Sunday, March 6th from 11am – 6p @ The Magestic on 650 S. Spring Street, Los Angeles.

I’m creating new table displays and making some earrings with neat finds from Mexico. If you’re in the Los Angeles area and are looking for a new art, weird writing and previously untold stories, make sure to stop by the table with these sexy faces:

Anjelica is busting her butt at Lemon Drop Press with the risograph on FULL BLAST to prepare the 13th issue of Come Find Out, Hot Magic! This sexy zine is a magical melding of various artwork, comics, illustrations, and writing from creative little witches and wizards from around the globe. The theme of the zine was erotic occult witchery as you can see in the call for submissions.

Open Call for Submissions for Come Find Out #13

Ritual is my first erotic comic about a young witch’s exploration with self-love and crystal magic healing. Read it in Hot Magic, next to a bunch of other comics that will make you bluuush. I’ll make sure to post the full pages on my site once I get back from LAZF 😉

Over the past few months, I’ve noticed that many of my kindred femme spirits have been learning more about moon cycles, crystals, herbs, rituals and spells – the juicy stuff of witches. It’s pretty exciting to see this communal consciousness take shape before my eyes. For many generations, we have been denied our innate powers to tend to our bodies and destinies. Witch hunts and violence against the feminine body seek to crush our powers, but I see this resurgence of occult arts among women as a protest against the domination of patriarchy. I feel empowered and magical.

Goddamn.

‘We are the granddaughters of the witches you couldn’t burn.’

I love this quotation more than ever right now. Now is the time for strength, ladies. Come one, come all to LA Zine Fest and find out more about what we’ve been brewin’.
